Relationships with food can have a huge impact on our lives.  It may be that an issue such as yo-yo dieting, over eating, under eating, binge eating, or a poor relationship with food dominates your life or it may be that at times of stress you notice your eating patterns and ability to look after yourself suffers.

Food may not be part of your presenting worries, and that is fine, I have extensive experience and can help with many other issues but if you know food is part of your “story” I have an specialised training (graduating from the US based Institute for the Psychology of Eating).  This training sits beautifully alongside my counselling qualifications and experience helping to investigate the connection between food, body and emotions.  We often work “away from the food” to unlock and understand what is going on for you emotionally, this awareness is often the key to making the changes you desire.

I can provide support to those receiving help with eating disorders (and parents of children facing these challenges) and have also successfully worked with many weight loss clients (including those on their GLP-1/Ozempic journey). Most of us have understanding of what we ideally should and shouldn’t eat and yet we don’t act effectively on it, the missing piece is the emotional aspects.  This is where my specialist training comes in.

I am a BACP accredited counsellor offering a rounded and individually tailored style of therapy offering you a safe space to share your story or work towards your goals.  For therapy to be effective it needs to be realistic, yet compassionate, empathic and non judgmental. I undertake to offer you nurturing and respectful support.

I offer short term, long term or one-off counselling (worldwide) via video, telephone or in person from rooms in Salisbury – see  http://www.thepracticerooms.co.uk/.
